ICAA Lyceum Lounge – Making a Difference Inside & Outside of Community Action
March 28, 2023 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
Free
Whitney is a fresh food and health advocate and a mother of 6 who understands the power that fresh food has on growing a kid’s potential. In short, you could say she is a strong believer of nurture through nourishment. She loves reconnecting people with where their food comes from, which is why she is passionate about educating kids and families on how to choose and prepare healthy, tasty, and sustainable meals for everyone to enjoy. Whether it’s impoverished families in need of support or stressed-out parents in need of guidance, Project Rooted works with everyone regardless of their background.
Established in 2020, in the heart of the pandemic, Project Rooted served 35,000 inclusive, locally sourced meals during school shutdowns. While that immediate need is no longer present, Project Rooted continues to support the community through farm-to-school education, in Brain Health Retreat Rooms, community dinners, food access and so much more.
Join us to learn about Project Rooted and share about areas of interest you have outside of your work at Community Action ~ we’d love to hear if you have a business or are part of a community initiative that is making an impact.
