PROJECT Recovery Iowa is attempting to put information about what we do in every post office in Iowa. We call it the Post Office Tour.

Today's town:
Decorah, IA - Winneshiek County
Populations - 7,615

Why? Because it's really important to us to let people know what we do. And almost everyone visits their post office from time to time.

How many are there?
A lot. 812 to be exact. We've done around a third of them, so we have a few to get to still.

While we are there, we try to take a photo of something unique about the town.

We thought it might be fun to start posting some of those towns we've visited. If you see a photo of something in your town, know that we have visited there, and also if needed, there is information hanging on the community billboard of your post office about what we do, and ways to reach us.

We are here to help Iowans, and it's really important to us that they know that. This is one way we are trying to reach everyone.

Whether it's counseling, help navigating resources, or just a listening ear, we are here.

The best's free and confidential.

Did you know it took 911 several years before it was recognized as a reliable source for calling for help? The same happened with the more recent community support, 211 helpline.

Now, with the 988 mental health and crisis line in operation, we want to make sure the word gets out quickly that it is a lifeline for those dealing with mental health crisis.

Please consider sharing the 988 number with your families, friends and children. #988SavesLives
